Baroque & Bluegrass Bash!
This Festival benefit concert will present a mix of baroque and bluegrass music in a free-form musical banquet at Cobble Hill Farm, one of Staunton, Virginia's most beautiful historic landmarks. Acclaimed pianist and harpsichordist Carsten Schmidt will play Bach in the salon of the Tudor revival house, the Madison Singers will sing madrigals in the formal gardens, and the incomparable Hound Dog Hill Boys will hold forth in the historic barn. Each program will be performed three times, with audience members moving among the various locations. A town-and-country mix of complimentary bar and food offerings will include beer, wine, iced tea, lemonade, bottled water, country-ham biscuits, black-eye-pea hummus, smoked-trout mousse, pepper jelly over cream cheese with crackers, fresh fruit, crisp vegetables with ranch dip, cheese straws, boiled peanuts, and assorted cookies and brownies. Everything is included in the $40 ticket price.
