The Monday Club of San Luis Obispo, Adobe Architectural Tour, Sunday April 27, 2014
This year's Tour on Sunday, April 27, 2014, will feature five San Luis Obispo historic adobes. Roundtrip shuttle transportation starts at the historic Monday Club, 1815 Monterey Street, San Luis Obispo. The clubhouse will be open with a Julia Morgan exhibit and refreshments. There will be a short walking component to the Tour.
The five stops include the Bowden/La Loma adobe, the Mancillas/Freitas adobe, the Mission San Luis de Tolosa attic and gardens, the Hays/Latimer adobe, and the Dallidet adobe. Tour attendees will walk from the Mancillas/Freitas adobe to the Mission and then on to the Hays/Latimer adobe, the total distance is approximately 1/8 mile. The Tour will include mission era food samplings at several of the locations, a local art show by SLOPE (San Luis Obispo Painters of the Environment) and music and dance entertainment. The combination of these special features creates an educational and culturally rich event.
Proceeds from this event will be used by The Monday Club to fund youth scholarships in music, fine arts, and scholastic achievement.
