The "HMS Pinafore" is anchored off the Portsmouth coast. Captain Corcoran (Tim Power) and his gallant crew ready the ship for inspection by the fleet's admiral, Sir Joseph Porter (Mike Baad). Corcoran's daughter, Josephine (Carley Neill), is to marry Sir Joseph and yet she is partial to the smartest lad in all the fleet, Ralph Rackstraw (Robert Vann). Rackstraw is of course in love with Josephine, but the gap in the social rank between Ralph and Josephine divides them.
Little does Josephine know that the Captain and Rackstraw were switched in their youth by their foster mother, Buttercup (Elisha Schreck). Although this switch is not revealed until later, the crew is mostly a supporter of Rackstraw except for Dick Deadeye (Bob Schroeder), who aids the Captain in making sure Rackstraw and Josephine do not elope.
Filled with beautiful and patriotic English music, "HMS Pinafore" is a fun-filled work.
