2nd Annual Masquerade Jazz & Funk Winter Music Carnival, Spirited Community Party, Saturday March 8 at Barnard Town Hall
BARNARD, VT BarnArts Center for the Arts presents its 2nd Annual Masquerade Jazz and Funk Winter Music Carnival Saturday March 8 at Barnard Town Hall. Music begins at 5 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students, and 6 and under free.
Five different musical groups will perform including the Woodstock Union High School Jazz-Funk Band. The evening starts with Artistree-O, a collective of bass, vibraphone and flute performing jazz influenced standards from the great American Songbook and original compositions. Next on are Woodstock pianist Sonny Saul and bassist Bill Martin of Barnard with original modern Jazz arrangements. Trumpeter Jody Henderson leads the high school musicians in New Orleans Brass Band-style rhythms. The Upper Valley funk band Green Room will get the groove going mid-evening. The dance floor will be well warmed when headliner Sol Food takes over and keeps the dance party going with funky R&B, Latin, soul jazz, and New Orleans second-line music.
Refreshments include a taco bar and non-alcoholic drinks. Costumed and masked guests are welcome to BYOB.
