Arena Theater's Blues On The Coast 2009 Series presents five great blues acts between February and October.
On Saturday February 21, Arena Theater's annual blues series opens with harmonica virtuoso Mark Hummel and the Blues Survivors, plus the raw burning guitar work and soulful vocals of special guest Rusty Zinn.
The series continues on Saturday May 2, 2009 with the award winning quartet, The Insomniacs, a new generation of blues musicians who channel a style from the 1950s but with a distinct new cyberspace bent.
On Saturday June 27 the series presents Candye Kane, a diva who found a home in the blues where her bold, brash vocals honor the blues women of the past with both feet firmly planted in the present.
Friday August 21: The MOFO Party Band is back by popular demand with their Retro look, dynamite stage show, and fresh lively blues grooves.
On Saturday October 3 the series presents Smokin' Joe Kubek & Bnois King with their hot Texas blues with a Louisiana flair.
When you purchase all five blues shows as a series you also receive a "Blues On The Coast" T-shirt designed by local artist Steve Oliff and preferred seating.
