Caminos Flamencos' heart-felt melodies and fiery steps make Cafe Flamenco at Rhythmix Cultural Works a show not to be missed! With a rotating cast of featured performers, each Cafe Flamenco offers a unique opportunity for audiences to experience the best and brightest of the flamenco world. Enigmatic Andalucían vocalist Jose Cortez and veteran Spanish guitar master Jason McGuire "El Rubio" will set the stage for an incredible roster of talented dancers.
This month, Caminos Flamencos will welcome a new face to the stage, visiting dancer Mele Martinez. Mele recieved her training at the National Conservatory of Flamenco Arts and the National Institute of Flamenco. She was also a soloist for the American Flamenco Repertory Company and has toured throughout the US and beyond with some of the best flamenco companies and musicians in the country. Mele will perform alongside blossoming choreographer and Caminos Flamenco company member Fanny Ara. In 2012, Fanny was awarded the prestigious finalist prize for Creative Promise In Dance by the Vilcek Foundation and her latest solo project "Juncal Street" was nominated for three Isadora Duncan Awards: Most Oustanding Music, Ensemble Performance and Individual Performance. Emmy Award-winning Caminos Flamencos Artistic Director Yaelisa will top off this night of five-star talent with the precision and passion she has come to exemplify.
Refreshing beverages and two delicious paellas will be available for purchase prepared by Marcos Quezada based on his grandmother's secret recipe with local ingredients and imported Spanish spices.
