Locomotive Ghost's Winter Vinyl Release
Locomotive Ghost release "Winter", the final instalment in the folk-rock group's DIY series of seasonally-themed vinyl records. This is the band's fourth themed release event in 11 months and celebrates the conclusion of an unusual project that has garnered the group attention locally and regionally. The evening will feature unique musical performances by Locomotive Ghost, evocative installations by visual artist Rachelle Quinn, and a chilling opening set by Hello Moth.
Locomotive Ghost crafts indie folk-rock for nerds and lovers. They are a collection of musicians, poets, and artists who play guitars, keyboards, bass, ukulele, banjo, drums, and percussion. Together, they make music that draws from classic roots-rock influences like The Band and Paul Simon while incorporating contemporary inspirations such as Joel Plaskett and Feist.

Hello Moth brings a mesmerizing presence to the stage, combining pop sensibilities with unearthly sounds and intriguing musicality to create songs that surprise and charm listeners. Warm, passionate vocals contrast with the cold, digital tones of a Casio VL-1 synthesizer to form a sound that is at once soulful and soulless. In each riveting performance, Hello Moth spins musical layers over each other in loops to form elaborate patterns. The songs that result are powerful and unexpected, as before your eyes the solitary musician becomes a haunting orchestra of one.
