World Musics joyfully collide this New Year's Eve when Nigerian Afrobeat band Jujuba and Afro-Cuban, Salsa and Latin Jazz band Pa'lante bring the Portland community together in a high energy dance party to raise funds for Mercy Corps' international disaster relief for people around the world. Think Global!

JUJUBA!
Jujuba delivers a funky, danceable style of Nigerian Afrobeat and Juju music. The strength of the eleven-piece band revolves around its energetic cohesion between percussion, rhythm and horn sections. Renowned for their ability to engage a wide variety of audiences, the band draws a dance floor full of smiling faces at every event.

Jujuba features Nojeem Lasisi from Igbo Ora, Oyo State, in Nigeria. He ranks among the world's elite talking drum players.

PA'LANTE!
Salsa! Latin jazz! Cha-cha and more! 9-piece Pa'lante performs fiery hot Latin music with irresistible rhythms, horns, choros and montunos. Lead singer Isa Perez of Havana adds the sweet spice to the mix. Percussionist Nick Gefroh leads on timbales, with longtime band members Francisco Marmolejo, Marty Velez, Peter Piazza, Rod Wooten and more.
