"Geoff Bartley is great and always will be." ~ Chris Smither. Geoff writes, "My music is a mix of blues, folk, and roots jazz. I play fingerstyle acoustic guitar and harmonica to support my bluesy baritone "singing". I'm also getting better...slowly... with traditional bluegrass and old-time flatpicking styles. The folk press has called me "folk music at its best" (Music Reviews Quarterly, Arden, NC), "a brilliant songwriter and a world-class guitarist" (The Boston Globe), and "spiritual godfather" (Dirty Linen Magazine, Baltimore, MD) of the Boston folk scene.." Geoff's latest CD Mercy for the Dispossessed was the Number 1 Album on the international FolkDJ radio playlists for August 2012. Geoff plays guitar and sings harmony for topical songwriter and veteran folk entertainer Tom Paxton, who commented "Geoff Bartley has hit another one out of the park." Mary Gauthier commented "a fine, fine work of musical art by an artist at the height of his musical powersthis recording will secure his place as a musical legend." Geoff will be appearing with a special guest, Howie Tarnower.
