Songwriters in the Round
Lisa Redfern brings four talented Maine songwriters to perform in an intimate, unplugged setting in Frontier's theatre for an evening of compelling songs and stories.
LISA REDFERN
An award-winning singer-songwriter who just released her 9th solo recording, Lisa blends her roots in all forms of Americana music to create something unmistakably her own. For over 25 years, Lisa has brought joy and comfort to listeners of all ages. After opening for Livingston Taylor, he commented to her "Wow, I haven't heard a voice like yours in 30 years, you sound like the original women of folk."
GREG KLEIN
As a member for the Portland based Dark Hollow Bottling Company (DHBC) for the past 10 years, Greg Klein has been spinning tales from York to Aroostook County and everywhere in between. DHBC's sophomore album American Ghosts made the top 30 in local sale in Maine in 2012 and was picked in the top 10 albums of the year in the Portland Phoenix. Klein's latest collection of songs is more personal and introspective and he has been playing solo shows as he prepares to go into the studio for his first solo album.
HEATHER STYKA
Chicago native and recent Maine transplant Heather Styka writes songs as fresh as they are rooted in the folk tradition. Also a poet and writer, Styka has an instinct for lyrics that are smart and unexpected but never cryptic, analyzing the importance of moments, places, and relationships. In addition to numerous songwriting awards, her 2011 release Lifeboats for Atlantis received critical praise, hitting #3 on the national FOLK-DJ charts.
GIFF JAMISON
Originally from Minnesota and now a Maine-based songwriter and performer, Giff's playing draws from folk, blues, jazz and rock influences but his roots are country blues and finger style guitar. Empty prairies, slow rolling rivers, moon filled dreams, and lost travelers all find a place somewhere in his music.
