Rex Allen - Trombone/Vibes, Jeff Sanford - Sax/Clarinet, Tom Liles - Piano/Vocals, Bob Steele - Bass, Ed Margolin - Drums
The SWING EXPRESS continues its tradition of playing big band hits and small group vintage jazz."It's timeless music that's just as fresh and alive as it was 40 and 50 years ago!" This performance will mark Rex Allen's personal appearances at Bach going back 42 years to 1971, and the Swing Express' long history at Bach goes back some 30 years. Over those years Rex was a featured jazz trombone soloist with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra in 1977, and later led the new Gene Krupa Orchestra for six years. In 1993 he led a 75-city National Tour of A Salute to Glenn Miller. The Bay Area remembers Rex Allen's America Swings Again radio show which aired weekly on KNOB radio in San Francisco.
"We always count any appearance on the Bach stage as a performance landmark."
