Seattle International Piano Competition winner Hee Sung Jang presents a solo concert of works by Haydn, Ravel, Gershwin, and Rachmaninoff.

Pianist Hee Sung Jang, born in Korea, received her bachelor's and master's degrees in piano performance from Seoul National University, where she studied with Soo-Jung Shin. Along with her degrees she was granted an Award of Honor for her thesis, "A Study on the Literary Effects of E. T. A. Hoffmann in Schumann Kreisleriana, Op.16." She earned a second master's degree in piano performance with high distinction from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she worked with Arthur Greene. As a soloist, chamber musician, and accompanist, she has performed at Seoul National University, the Mozart Concert Hall, Ewon Cultural Center, and Chugye University for the Arts in Korea. Outside of her home country she has performed at venues including the Wiener Summer Music Festival in Austria, the Worthing Theatre in the United Kingdom, the Puigcerda Summer Music Festival in Spain, Steinway Hall in Texas, and the Kosciuszko Foundation Auditorium in New York. She recently performed in a Rising Artists Evening concert with conductor Eduard Zilberkant in the Evenings of Piano Concerti series at the Good-Shepherd Church in New York. She has also performed in master classes given by renowned artists, including John Perry, Oxana Yablonskaya, Hae-Sun Paik, and Barry Schneider.
