Noe Valley Chamber Music Presents: LATITUDE 41
Sunday November 10 at 4pm, NVCM presents: Latitude 41 performing two rarely performed piano trios by Camille Saint-Saens as well as Schubert's exquisitely tender and ethereal Notturno.
The concert will take place at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Audience members have the chance to mingle with the performers while enjoying light refreshments immediately following the performance. Tickets range from $10-$25, with a discount for seniors, students and advance purchases. Free for children 12 and under. Childcare is available. Ample free parking.
Violinist Livia Sohn, cellist Luigi Piovano, and pianist Bernadene Blaha came together to form Latitude 41 in the summer of 2009, as a result of their previous musical collaborations and mutual passion for chamber music. Since their formation, highlights of Latitude 41 appearances include the Newport Music Festival (for the opening gala in 2009 and the closing gala in 2011), the L'Ermitage Foundation in Los Angeles, and "Sundays Live" at the L.A. County Museum of Art, which is streamed live across the internet and radio. Latitude 41 released its debut CD this year with the monumental Schubert Piano Trio in E flat, and Schubert Notturno, on the label Eloquentia. The latitude of the trio's first performance venue in Rhode Island, as well as where cellist Luigi Piovano makes his home in Rome, Italy, are both Latitude 41.
Camille Saint-Saëns: Piano Trio No. 1 in F major, op. 18
Saint-Saëns: Trio No. 2 in e minor, op. 92
Noe Valley Chamber Music has been presenting superb chamber music in San Francisco since 1992. NVCM offers concerts of excellent quality at an affordable price, as well as opportunities for audience participation and socialization. We encourage performers to talk informally about their music from the stage; thus members of our community experience outstanding concert performances in an informal, yet authentic chamber music tradition.
