Middle Space Featuring Wil Blades
Composing Duo Frank Buchanan and Kurt Stockdale return to Kuumbwa for a world premiere of original compositions. This time, to enliven a program of funky groove music and slick southern swing, Middle Space is joined by acclaimed organist Wil Blades, protege of Dr Lonnie Smith. Rounding out the group are New York session drummer Bill Campbell and the magnificent Bay Area favorite Chuck MacKinnon on trumpet.
In addition to the theme of the evening, organ music, Middle Space is proud to be presenting a sneak peak into their upcoming recording project, with exciting compositions in homage to Thelonious Monk.
