Folk Legend Tom May
Tom May has truly lived " A life in song"  for nearly 50 years,  across the U.S., Canada, and overseas.   Along the journey, he has produced 14 albums of original material; performed hundreds of concerts solo, with his trio, at festivals,  and with full symphony orchestra accompaniment, and shared stages with such artists as Gordon Lightfoot, Alabama, and Willie Nelson.

Since 1985 he has produced the weekly syndicated program on public radio  "River City Folk".    He also founded and still produces Portland, Oregon's largest annual folk music concert,
"Winterfolk" which raises money for Northwest residents in need of food and shelter- which just sold out its 32nd annual show on February 1st, at the Alberta Rose Theatre.

The Peninsula Arts Center in Long Beach in the location for his very first event to promote his memoir  "I Wouldn't Count on It-Confessions of an Unlikely Folksinger".

Full of amusing stories, interesting geography, bungled romances and excellent wine- this is a book to be savored by anyone who enjoys a story of making it in the music business (which means vastly different things to different folks) and having fun  along the way.  His dedication to this "music that makes a difference" has never faltered, and shines through in this traveling tale.  The concert will feature many songs highlighted in the book, and compositions  from throughout Tom's long career.

Both hardcover and softcover books will be available this evening, and each book will have a limited edition 20 song retrospective/compilation CD within.
