New Music Works presents MAIN DRAG 35th SEASON - Concert II
FREE Pre-Concert Panel Discussion with three of the composers, starting at 7pm. The discussion will include our two Local composers - Chris Pratorius and Michael McGushin plus regional composer, Steed Cowart (of Oakland). Also, joining the panel will be featured bassist Stan Poplin and Philip Collins, the Artistic Director / Conductor of New Music Works Ensemble who will be moderating the discussion. ... CONCERT DESCRIPTION New Music Works presents a contemporary chamber music concert of intersecting minds, virtuosity and hot off the asphalt world premieres of works by local composers Michael McGushin / Christopher Pratorius and Daniel James Wolf of Frankfurt, Germany. The NMW Ensemble will also perform music by John Cage, Steed Cowart and Frederic Rzewski, composer of "Main Drag, a road story for 9 or more players." Local bassist, Stan Poplin, will perform "Ryoanji" for solo bass by John Cage.
