Can't Stop the Serenity 2013 - St. Louis
The Mid-County Jaycees will be hosting a Can't Stop the Serenity (CSTS) charity screening on September 21 to benefit Equality Now. CSTS is back in St. Louis for the first time since 2008!
CSTS is a unique opportunity to indulge your geeky side while doing some good! Since 2006, fans have organized screenings of Joss Whedon's Serenity to raise funds and awareness to support Equality Now in their work for the protection and promotion of the human rights of women around the world. This year's event will also support Lydia's House, a transitional housing program for abused women and their children. Join us as we aim to misbehave for a good cause!
Junior Chamber International (JCI) chapters all over the world have been working to advance the United Nations Millennium Development Goals since 2003. As part of JCI, the Mid-County Jaycees are proud to be a part of CSTS and the work to promote gender equality and empower women.
On Saturday, September 21, 2013, we will be showing Joss Whedon's Serenity. We will be having a raffle, costume contest, Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and a guest speaker or two prior to showtime.
If you have missed buying tickets, you can get them at the door at Ronnies starting around 8pm the night of event!
