Mike McKay Performing for the Filipino Street Art Project
Fundraiser: 7-9pm, Concert: 9-11pm
Baldwinsville-born documentary filmmaker Kimberly Dryden is returning to her hometown for a fundraising event for her directorial debut, Unstable Mutations. The event will be hosted by the Filipino Street Art Project on Friday, August 23rd at The Palace Theater on James. Tickets are $10 and doors open at 7pm. All proceeds go to the production of the documentary film Unstable Mutations, which follows Manila-based street artist Rai Cruz at the forefront of the country's booming street art scene.
The event will feature music from the Mike McKay Band, demonstration by Guru Chris Thompson of the CNY Filipino Martial Arts Academy, silent auction and raffle, Filipino hors d'ouervres, and a full bar, including tastings from Lakeland Winery.
The fundraiser will support a production trip to the Philippines in the fall when filming is scheduled to take begin. The film is part of The Filipino Street Art Project, a multimedia documentary project that examines Filipino life and society through the lens of street art and seeks to connect street art communities worldwide.
