2013 Golf Tournament (Sponsoring EWB Denver and Kowski Charities)
This tournament is a fun and beneficial NPS tradition that is open to all, so please join us for a great day of golf, prizes, and maybe even bragging rights. We'll provide details on the prizes, rules, etc. later, but meanwhile the following has been arranged:
Date: FRIDAY, August 23, 2013 Time: 7:30 AM Shotgun Start Location: Applewood Golf Course (Golden, CO) Format: 4-person "Scramble": Teams may be all female, all male or mixed. Cost: $70/person (includes green fees, cart, range balls, tournament fee, fund donation, LUNCH!!, tip, and prize fee.
We'll play the typical scramble format this year. All team members will tee off on each hole and the team selects the best drive. Each group competes as a team for the lowest team score over 18 holes. All players in the group tee off; the best drive is then selected and all players bring their golf balls to that point. All players hit their next shot from that point. The ball can be placed within one club length from the ball selected. In placing the ball, you may not change the condition of the shot. If the ball is in a hazard or rough, all members of the team must play their shot from the hazard or rough, respectively. Play progresses in the same manner until the ball is holed out. Write down one score for the team per hole. On the green, all players putt from the best point selected by placing their ball within 3 inches of the point selected, but no closer to the hole. First ball in counts; please don't putt out the rest of the balls. Gentlemen will play from the white tees, and ladies will play from the red tees. You must use at least three (3) drives from each team member. Ladies may use 2 consecutive shots on par 4 and par 5 holes to count as 1 drive. EACH lady may do this only THREE TIMES during the round. After using her three "2 hits for 1 drive", the lady plays only 1 shot per drive.
