ANIMATERRA SPRING CONCERT -- LOVE YOUR MOTHER
Animaterra Women's Chorus, led by Allison Aldrich, welcomes Spring with songs of mothers, Mother Earth, and the joy we feel. Our music is from around the world, in English, German, Hawaiian, Hebrew, Gaelic; in the languages of Nigeria, Kenya and Bosnia; chants from Hindu and Native American origins... We will ask you to sing some along with us, and a small group from the chorus will sing "What a Wonderful World" while the remaining members listen with you.
Animaterra: anima - spirit, mater - mother, terra - Earth: The name, chosen when the chorus was founded by Allison Aldrich and a small group of enthusiastic women in 1997, tells our mission. Now in our 16th year, we still find great pleasure and satisfaction in bringing that spirit to life in song. Throughout the process of learning the music for the twice-a-year concerts in Keene and Peterborough to the public performances, we look forward to sharing this music with family, friends, and everyone who comes.
Following the concerts, join Allison and singers for a celebration and full tables of finger foods.
Animaterra has a long history of public service, bringing our voices to events like Keene's Tree Lighting, area Farmers' Markets, celebrations at the Mariposa Childrens Museum; selling our 'famous' Animaturnovers at the Pumpkin Festival; and singing at nursing homes and for individuals, which was the basis for Pathways Singers, now an independent group bringing song to homes, hospitals and special living locations.
Information for the Sunday concert in Peterborough follows. Look at our other listing for the Saturday concert in Keene.
Please join us at our Spring Concert!
