The First Annual San Francisco Filipino American Jazz Festival makes its debut on August 9th and 10th with a celebration of achievements and contributions by Filipino American Jazz artists. The mission of the San Francisco Filipino Jazz Festival is to promote, preserve, and celebrate Filipino American history, art, and culture.

Noted Filipino jazz artists Flip Nunez, Bobby Enriquez, Rudy Tenio, and Boy Palacio will be honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards for their musical contributions and for blazing trails in the world of jazz for generations of music lovers.
There will be afternoon performances during the 15th Annual SF Pistahan Parade and Festival at Yerba Buena Gardens on both days. These shows are open to the public and admission is free.
Evening performances will take place at the Metreon Action Theater - Mission at Fourth Streets in San Francisco - from 5 to 9pm on both days. Tickets are $40 for VIP seating, $30 for general seating and there is a special rate of $20 for seniors age 60 and over as well as anyone with a valid student ID. The San Francisco Filipino American Jazz Festival is a collaboration of the Filipino American National Historical Society-SF Bay Area Consortium, the 15th Annual Pistahan Parade and Festival, the San Francisco Filipino Cultural Center, the Mission Hiring Hall, ABS-CBN Television, and PhilJazzUSA.
