Portland Revels Sign-Up: All Day Guided Trip to Ape Caves
Take a guided hike through the longest lava tube in the continental U.S., with a picnic to follow. Geologist Sarah Hoover and Dave Shepherd will host. Just 90 minutes north of Portland, we'll explore the lower cave; an easy 1.5 mile round trip, then for folks looking for more adventure, we'll then explore the 1.5 mile long upper cave through-hike, including boulder scrambles and scaling an 8-foot lava wall, and a a beautiful return hike above ground.
Those content with the easier cave experience can relax at base camp or trek up the Trail of Two forests. We'll meet back up for a delicious picnic lunch and then head for home. Transportation provided.
