CHRISSI POLAND of the Scissor Sisters
Chrissi Poland is a true soul singer, writer, and multi-instrumentalist. Weaving in the sounds of soul, roots, and electro-pop, she channels a sound that captivates and compels people to wonder how "that voice comes from that little body."
Compounded with her electrifying stage presence, Chrissi is an artist you experience, not just hear. While touring the world with the internationally acclaimed pop band Scissor Sisters, Poland sung shows opening for Lady Gaga's Monster Ball tour, in addition to releasing her first EP independently entitled, Songs From The Concrete. This slow-burn singer/songwriter EP was received with critical acclaim in both in the US and UK, which led to her solo debut at the Glastonbury Music Festival in England.
In addition to touring with the Scissor Sisters, Poland has shared the studio and the stage with several acclaimed artists including Sting, Elvis Costello, Clint Black, Moby, and legendary Stax "Soul Man" Sam Moore (formerly of Sam & Dave). One of the pioneers of soul, Sam says of Chrissi: "Now this is a girl you GOT to hear."
While her soulful voice is the first instrument to grab your attention, the Massachusetts-born and Berklee School of Music graduate has also wowed audiences with her impressive mastery of both the piano and the drums. She's performed as an original singer-songwriter at some of NYC's hottest venues including Le Poisson Rouge, Rockwood Music Hall, Canal Room, City Winery, The Living Room, and the Metropolitan Room, and will be releasing her new EP Reckless Ones in early 2013. Reckless Ones is a powerful collection of electro-pop soul songs composed by Chrissi, showcasing her astounding vocals and offering a luscious soundscape of rhythms, beats, and unforgettable hooks. The first single, "Possible" (released via music video) already has fans singing, dancing, and calling for more.
Poland is force onstage that pulls you in so powerfully you feel a mixture of envy, awe, respect and adoration. Her movements are fluid and rhythmic, her vocals are flawless and her love radiates from the tips of her blazing red hair to the heels of her fierce knee high boots. You are guaranteed to leave a Chrissi Poland show with your mind blown, your soul healed, your heart full, and your ears ringing with the pure essence of the music.
CALEB HAWLEY - 2011 Top 50 American Idol
On paper, Caleb Hawley's resume reads as the standard Who's Who for up-and-coming songwriters. Then you hear him sing, and you realize there is only one word needed to describe this artist: Extraordinary.
From his ability to write intricate lyrics with cutting-edge chords to his lightening fast licks and ear for taste and style, there is absolutely nothing average about this shaggy-haired, blue-eyed, multi-faceted musician. Receiving top honors in the prestigious New York Songwriters Circle Contest (2008 and 2009), the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (2009), the Telluride Festival (2010), the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival (2010), and Rocky Mountain Folks Fest (2011) for his songwriting, he also has a voice to place him in the final fifty on the 2011 American Idol Season. Hawley is as aggressive as he is perseverant in advancing his art and impressing audiences with his unique and catchy approach to music.
Sharing the stage with industry greats such as Mark Cohn, Rusted Root, Dave Matthews Band, Shawn Mullins, and Edwin McCain, this diverse songwriter has written and produced three albums and toured all over the country playing sold-out venues and nationwide festivals. Though his initial passion simply began with a guitar and a love for a wide variety of music from Metallica to Martin Sexton, it was shortly after graduating Berklee College of Music with a degree in jazz composition that Caleb discovered a knack for song writing. He quickly made his way to New York City to pursue his newfound ambitions.
