Capital District Jazz is excited to announce a new concert series Jazz at the Spring. The series premiers on Thursday, September 28th with the amazing clarinetist and world-renowned whistler, Brad Terry.
Brad Terry, started playing the clarinet as a teen under the tutelage of friend and neighbor Benny Goodman and has played with some of the greatest jazz musicians of our time: Dizzy Gillespie, Buddy Tate, Lenny Breau. He will reunite, for his only appearance in the Capital District, with jazz guitarist and friend Mark Kleinhaut, who, JazzTimes writer and author Bill Milkowski calls, one of the truly brilliant guitarists on the jazz scene today. Rounding out the trio for this premier event is formidable bassist John Menegon, who will be familiar to jazz aficionados, as an integral member of both the Dewey Redman Quartet, and the David "Fathead" Newman Quintet and performances with Joe Lovano, Pat Metheny, Jack DeJohnette, and Kenny Barron.
