About SEATING OPTIONS at The Hypnodrome:
Our intimate venue seats only forty-five guests, so we do recommend purchasing your tickets in advance. "General Admission" seats are filled on a first-come basis and we encourage patrons to arrive early (the doors open a 1/2 hour before show time). For couples seeking a extra special night out, "Shock Box" seats and "Turkish Lounges" are well worth the extra $10 per couple. Winner of SF Weekly's "Best of San Francisco" Award for "Best Bonus Theater Experience" our Shock Boxes are themed loveseats (Heaven and Hell, The Pharaoh's Tomb, and The Asylum of Shock) and in our Turkish Lounge for two, couples may bask in decadent languor and kick back among oriental carpets and silken pillows while enjoying the show. Each couple who purchase these seats will receive a free download of Jill Tracy's new album "Silver Smoke Star of Night."
About CREEPSHOW CHRISTMAS:
What happens when San Francisco's celebrated "femme fatale for the thinking man" and the Hypnodrome's favorite chanteuse applies her dark elegance to a Christmas album?
Jill Tracy returns to The Hypnodrome in a full concert to celebrate her new CD "Silver Smoke, Star of Night," and the Christmas "spirit" (for those who prefer the October chill) complete with special guests, short films, and ghost tales.
Her joy working with Creepshow Campers (ages 8-15) at the Hypnodrome inspired her to create a RARE all ages show and actually invite children in the audience to share their favorite ghost story. Jill Tracy and her band will even conjure the spirits with an improvised live score for each tale!
Her brand new CD "Silver Smoke, Star of Night" beckons away from the cheap holiday tinsel and phony cheer to reveal a more evocative, sophisticated undercurrent. The collection is Jill Tracy's lavish, shadowy interpretation of some of the more haunting classic carols, some dating back to the Middle Ages. Emotional, delicate, and textural, the music was recorded in completely organic, but grand fashion-from hand-held antique chimes, bells, toys, mallets, bamboo, metals, and drums by master percussionist Randy Odell.
This is the season's Night Music Jill Tracy's glorious realm that lurks within the shadow of Christmas, and will cast you under its spell.
Creepshow Christmas features master percussionist Randy Odell, bassist Kenny Annis, and special guest John Anaya (from the recent multi award-winning Edinburgh Fringe hit " The I Hate Children Children's Show" http://ihatechildren.com/
Be part of the show! Want to tell a 2-3 minute ghost story onstage with the band? Only a limited number of spots available to ticket purchasers. Please contact Hypnodrome producer Russell Blackwood at email@example.com for more information.
FROM THE PRESS:
"Jill Tracy's interpretation of classic carols is emotional, passionate and haunting at the same time. She also uses ambient touches throughout, that make you feel you are part of each story...Her voice is just tragically beautiful. You feel each word that comes out of her mouth means something, and that each moment she speaks on this CD, she does not waste space on anything less than perfection. This is the new age of holiday music, where it does not have to be kid friendly, or overly joyful, it can just be compelling and powerful. This is lavishly dark and haunting and will keep your attention from start to finish, and I will say as far as holiday records go, and I have heard quite a few in my time, I will put this in the top of the list as to something that celebrates the holiday in a truly unique way." WICKED CHANNEL
"Finally! an alternative! Jill Tracy's foray into the relentlessly commercial world of Christmas recordings arrives like a cool meteorite in a field of pink cotton candy Silver Smoke, Star of Night is a sophisticated antidote to excessive sweetness and light. If Santa's mistress performed at your Christmas party, it might sound like Jill Tracy."
