A World of Guitar: Virtuoso Guitar Music from Six Continents 6-26-17
A World of Guitar: Virtuoso Guitar Music from Six Continents featuring guitar music from around the world performed by Aaron Larget-Caplan and Peter Janson in both solo and duo formats.

Stone Records recording artist Aaron Larget-Caplan and EWM Records artist Peter Janson return to perform in Portland OR on Monday, June 26th at The Little Church, 5138 NE 23rd Ave (one block north of Alberta Street in the Alberta Arts District), Portland OR 97211 as part of their 14-date summer west-coast tour that has them performing from Seattle to Phoenix.

Their concert, A World of Guitar: Virtuoso Guitar Music from Six Continents introduces guitar music from around the world, performed with artistry and technical mastery, stemming from the vastly rich variety of human culture as expressed in its guitar music:  songs that cross genres and styles from americana and celtic, to classical and flamenco, to world-jazz-fusion for an unforgettable musical adventure.  A World of Guitar features music for solo guitar, and duets, that reveal a mutual devotion to the heart, soul, and inspiration of great guitar music from around the world.

Avid solo performers, their shows bring world-class guitar playing to the concert stage: music that not only entertains, but is also evocative and engrossing, with roots in tradition and a sense of history, while addressing and capturing the sounds, rhythms, and urgency of our contemporary world.  Music that is further brought to life by sharing the origins, humor, stories and legends of each piece.

Of their new tour, Janson says, "Our A World of Guitar tours are so special to me because Aaron and I share this wonderful devotion to the heart and soul of acoustic guitar music, and to the music that is tied to a global history and tradition. And in each concert we get to bring forth the highest level of emotive qualities of the music while making it fresh and authentic. Our goal is to help people have a great night out listening to some cool, if sometimes obscure, music. We have performed thousands of concerts during our combined years on the music scene: headline concerts from Russia, Europe and across the United States including Aaron at the El Palacio de Linares (Madrid, Spain), Yelagin and Sheremetev Palaces and the St. Petersburg Conservatory (Russia), Mantova Chamber Music Festival, Corte Eremo and Castillo de Galeazza (Italy), Crocker Art Museum (Sacramento, CA), Jordan Hall, (Boston, MA), and myself at the Montreal Jazz Festival (Canada), the Healdsburg Guitar Festival (CA), the Argenta Acoustic Music Series (Little Rock, AR), the WUMB Music Festival (Boston, MA) and more.

Testimonial:
"A World of Guitars is a remarkable musical journey of virtuosic guitar music from around the world. I curate and produce a renowned guitar series that features musicians from all over the world with a very sophisticated audience. Peter Janson and Aaron Larget-Caplans performance had the audience on their feet time and time again. Superb playing and material by truly talented artists. ~ Steve Davison, Producer, Argenta Arts Acoustic Music Series, www.argentaartsacousticmusic.com
