Indulgence: Taste West Sonoma
Indulgence: Taste West Sonoma, set for September 16th at The Barlow Event Venue, is a first-time collaboration between the Russian River Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and the Taste West Sonoma group of wineries. Eleven TWS wineries will be pouring their fine wines, and musical entertainment is being supplied by Dgiin and Kevin Probst, and Worth Our Weight is slated to cater the event. The Russian River Sisters are planning fun & games with a wine trivia contest and an alluring silent auction with TWS wines. The benefit will raise funds for the Russian River Sisters Nuns of the Above Scholarship Program, and a new TWS viticulture scholarship.
Taste West Sonoma, a newly-formed group of West County wineries, will have eleven member wineries pouring at the event: Claypool Cellars, Drnk Wines, Furthermore Pinot Noir, Halleck Vineyard, Hartford Family Wines, Iron Horse Vineyards, Joseph Jewell, MacPhail Wines, Marimar Estate, Martin Ray and Red Car Wines.
Mistresses of Ceremonies, the lovely Sister Candy D'Apples and relentlessly naughty Sister Wilma Titzgro of the Russian River Sisters are certain to keep the tasters titillated!
The Sisters are very excited to be working on an appetizer menu with Evelyn Cheatham of Worth Our Weight. WOW is a non-profit that works with young people from ages 16-24 who have faced major challenges in their lives, including foster care, difficulties with the law, homelessness, and significant family disruption. We provide culinary and food service training. The apprentices operate WOW Cafe for Sunday Brunch 8am 2pm.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Russian River Sisters Nuns of the Above Scholarship Program for graduating seniors at El Molino, Analy, and Laguna High Schools, and the Santa Rosa Junior College re-entry program. Some of the funds raised at the event will be used to create a Taste West Sonoma Scholarship through the NOTA program.
