About the Eco-Arts Film Festival: An evening of film, poetry, art, science, actions and live music inspired by oceans, for the sake of preserving living oceans. Featuring musicians playing The Whale Guitar, we'll celebrate our love of the marine environment, learn about the pervasive plastic problem it is facing, discover helpful actions we can practice, and meet local groups we can join and support that are creating positive solutions. Doors: 5pm for music and exhibition Film: 7:30 with more performances following! FREE oysters and Revival Beer, with a big thanks to Don Nguyen and Sean Larkin!
About The Cable Car Cinema & Cafe This tiny art house theater with its couches and cafe only holds 100 seats! So this will be an intimate, very special event! Special thanks to Daniel and Emily of The Cable Car Cinema for their kindness and support in making this evening a reality!

About The Whale Guitar: Inspired by Melville's great tale "Moby Dick", and born in the creative wellspring that is Providence, The Whale Guitar is a one-of-a-kind electric guitar that is an instrument on a mission! Imagined by designer/guitarist Jen Long, designed by artist/drummer William Schaff and built by luthier/designer/bassist Rachel Rosenkrantz, it has been played and signed by over 100 local and international guitarists to raise awareness and inspire action for the sake of whale and ocean preservation! As Starbuck plead to Ahab "Oh! Ahab, not to late is it, even now, the third day, to desist!" Those words are embroidered across the guitar strap to remind us to change our environmental course while we still have time. Let's do it now!
About ticket prices: Base ticket price of $20 only covers performers fees and film cost! The Whale Guitar Project believes in sustaining the marine environment AND the creative environment, both of which sustain, enrich and inspire us all! Therefore, we practice paying our performers at festivals and fundraising events we organize, and our base level proceeds go to them first. Since this event will introduce you to several wonderful environmental organizations to donate to, the higher ticket sponsorship levels sustain The Whale Guitar Project itself! We have print and social media costs to cover, and we would love a little extra to help us plan a whale watch event, classroom events, and produce a professional compilation of local guitarists playing songs for the seas on The Whale Guitar with a portfolio of artworks. All this to expand a growing wave of change. What's our biggest dream? To create a Whale Guitar tour through inland regions where the wonder of the ocean is as invisible to the inhabitants as the air they inspire, though 70% of each breath's oxygen - even in the middle of a continent - comes from sea vegetation! We want to inspire people to care about that which they inspire! Inspiration X Inspiration! Sea life IS life! If you love our project, please help us grow by purchasing your tickets at one of the sponsorship levels below! Sized by whales, for your whale-sized hearts! In return you will receive sweet perks, including your very own Whale Guitar concert in your home at the highest level!
NOTE: Currently The Whale Guitar Project is an individual art project of Jen Long. Because it is NOT a 501(3)C, we cannot provide a tax incentive for your donation. We hope you love what we are doing enough to support the project in its current structure, while we navigate the process of becoming a non-profit. Thank you for your consideration!
