With the possible exception of St. Nicholas, there is no better man than the stellar Scots musician Jim Malcolm for spreading warmth abnd good cheer and dispel the cold and gloom of a starless winter night. Having as many gifts as St. Nicholas, Malcolm is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, harmonica player, raconteur and madcap comedian. Following his eight-year tenure as lead singer with the esteemed Scots ensemble Old Blind Dogs, Jim is well into a flourishing solo career. A past winner of the Scots Trad Music Award as 'Songwriter of the Year,' that same pretigious prize-giving body has nominated Jim more times than anyone else in its history as 'Singer of the Year.' Hailed in 'Living Tradition' as 'One of the finest singing voices in Scotland in any style,' in 'The Independent' as 'One of the most outstandingtalents to have emerged through the Scottish folk scene in years' and in 'Dirty Linen' as having 'One of those pure, warm folk voices that one never tires of listening to,' Jim has released 12 'solo' CDs, an award-winning DVD of his hilarious one-man-show as Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns and in what has become a tradition, will have on sale at the concert nis new, as yet untitled, album.
