About The NAC Orchestra's Canada 150 Tour:
To mark the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation, the National Arts Centre Orchestra will undertake its first ever cross-Canada tour during the spring and fall of 2017. Led by Music Director Alexander Shelley, the Canada 150 Tour will include over a dozen major concert performances and over 100 education and outreach programs in communities across the country.
From April 26 to May 7, the National Arts Centre Orchestra will begin its Canada 150 Tour in all four Atlantic provinces, beginning in St. Johns, then travelling to Moncton, Charlottetown, Eskasoni, Saint John and Halifax. Over the summer months, the orchestra will perform in Toronto and Quebec City. Then, in October and November the orchestra travels west with performances in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Victoria and Vancouver.
The NAC Orchestra is proud to work alongside local artists and showcase Canadian creation at every tour stop. This event at the Rocket Room is no exception an exciting start to the tour in St. Johns!
