An Evening of Jazz
Treat your valentine to an evening of world-class jazz as Gary Hemenway and Clairece Rosati come to Shelton Friday, Feb 10. Gary Hemenway and Clairece Rosati perform all over the Pacific Northwest and are coming to Shelton for one night only. Both musicians are national award winners, and they are teaming up to bring world class jazz to Shelton. You wont want to miss this dynamic couple
Heavy hors doeuvres and a beverage are included in the ticket purchase. You have to provide your own dancing shoes.
Gary Hemenway:
Gary Hemenway's diverse abilities have afforded him many rich opportunities for working in the fields of soundtrack, production, direction, composing/arranging, teaching, & live performance. His work has appeared throughout the world in Nike & Avia videos and events, at the World Olympics, and garnished a Portland Advertising Federation Rosie award for Best Musical Composition.
Amongst his many musical abilities gospel has become one of his greatest musical strengths. As the Music Director for the Northwest Community Gospel Choir for 15 years, he has enjoyed working with the Grammy-nominated Oregon Symphony on their Gospel Christmas concerts.
Gary has written and arranged numerous vocal and instrumental pieces in every style from classical, and film score, to gospel, jazz, pop, and rock. He has numerous recordings of his original compositions and arrangements. He frequently enjoys working with schools, colleges, choirs, and churches as a guest musician, clinician, director, and highly sought after accompanist. Currently he is the Studio Music Instructor of Jazz Piano and Jazz Choir at Whitman College in Walla Walla.
Clairece Rosati:
Clairece Rosati is a singer and songwriter from the Pacific NW, currently living in Walla Walla WA. Her voice is clear, strong, rich and boasts an impressive range. Her diverse musical background and experience are evident as she artfully navigates with agility, passion and versatility through many genres of music. A classically trained soprano adept at singing in four languages, she especially loves the spontaneous creativity and movement of jazz and the power of soul and gospel music. Clairece has won awards as a soloist and songwriter, has been involved in countless live and televised musical productions, and sung in small ensembles and choirs for touring recording artists. She regularly performs with her husband Gary Hemenway, an accomplished and talented pianist, vocalist, director, arranger and educator, as part of a powerful duo, and enjoys working as a guest vocalist with a host of other well-known jazz and soul musicians who call the West Coast home.
