Janis Kelly's 50th Birthday Concert/Campaign Kick-Off!
Please join me on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History for a special concert, celebration and champagne reception in honor of my 50th birthday (October 8)! I can't think of a better way to pay homage to my first and kick start my second 50 years than making soul-stirring, heart-opening, hip-shaking music with my favorite musical friends and colleagues and sharing it with this wonderful community!
I will also be kicking off a fundraising campaign for my dream project that night: "Go Ahead & Love," my first ever professionally produced and edited album of original material!
I am thrilled to be bringing this music to life with an all-star rhythm section consisting of Christian Teele on drums, Bijoux Barbosa on bass, Rick Pontalion on keyboards, and a surprise guest on guitar, and overjoyed at the opportunity to sing duets, trios and even quartets with my beautiful Sisters In Song, including Amanda Grover, June Turnbull and Robin Richardson!
I am also honored to have my women's vocal ensemble, Spirit Voices, open up the evening with their gorgeous, three-part renditions of several of my tunes!
As an independent, "higher vibe" musician and performer who has been fortunate (or crazy) enough to work/play at my soul's calling for more than three decades, I am truly grateful for the love and support that has been extended to me by friends, fans, family and fellows! 50 feels fun, fabulous, fit and FREE, and I thank you in advance for helping me celebrate in style! If you are unable to attend, I also thank you for considering making a contribution to my "Go Ahead & Love" project, which you can do on-line after the 13th!
