Hossein Omoumi, From Isfahan to Irvine
"From Isfahan to Irvine", directed by Hesam Abedini, focuses on the life and work of Hossein Omoumi, one of the masters of Persian classical music as well as a teacher of that field. This documentary, takes us from Isfahan, where Omoumi learned and mastered Persian classical music to Europe and the United State where Omoumi continues to perform and teach.
Dr. Omoumi is currently the Masseh Professor in Persian Performing Arts in the department of music at the University of California, Irvine. Professor Omoumi is also known for his original work with Persian traditional drums, particularly the Tombak and Daf.
