KEN LOACH screening of Spirit of 45 and live Q&A
Ken Loach, legendary film maker (Kes, Cathy Come Home, I, Daniel Blake) and two time winner of the Palme d'Or, will be visiting Newcastle on Monday 22nd August to screen his acclaimed film, Spirit of '45.
After WWII the British economy was literally in tatters and the national debt was over 200% of GDP. Yet within a single term of government we managed to create the NHS, built hundreds of thousands of council homes every year, integrated the transport system, created the welfare state, built a national energy infrastructure, and created full employment for everyone. So why can't we do that now?
After the screening, there will be an audience Q&A with Ken Loach to discuss these ideas.
Where: Gosforth Civic Theatre, NE3 3HD. Right next to Regent Centre, fully accessible venue, free parking, by Regent Centre Metro and bus interchange.
Screening starts at 7.05pm. Q&A afterwards.
