"A co-production with Capilano University Jazz Studies Department" and Laurie Verchomin, founder of the Bill Evans Legacy Organization, and author of The Big Love : Life & Death with Bill Evans.

Join us for what promises to be a very special evening of Jazz.  

"Bill Evans Time Remembered" pays tribute to one of the modern Masters of Jazz, pianist/composer Bill Evans. Bill's generous contributions to the music of the 20th century continue to inspire the ever evolving world of jazz & beyond.

Bruce Spiegel has produced a complete documentary giving you insights into Bill Evans; not just the musician, but also the person. The film moves chronologically starting with Bill's childhood in New Jersey, and culminating with details about his death.

The event will feature live music with the Miles Black Trio, playing the compositions of Bill Evans.
Firstly known as one of Canada's most accomplished jazz pianists, Miles is also highly acclaimed and sought after as an arranger, producer, composer, session musician, guitarist, vocalist, bassist, saxophonist, songwriter, and musical theatre director.
"Bill Evans was the first musician to truly open my heart to the zen-world of improvisation and jazz. Even after 40 years of piano playing, I still hold Bill as the standard bearer of integrity in jazz."

Laurie Verchomin, author of "The Big Love: Life & Death with Bill Evans", which chronicles her coming of age story and the ascension of her lover and spiritual mentor Bill Evans, is the founder of the Bill Evans Legacy Organization.  The Bill Evans Legacy Organization is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the musical legacy of Bill Evans.
