Locavore Music Festival
The fourth annual Locavore Music Festival will take place 2-10 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Cider Hill Farm. Festival organizers have selected the Waldo Theatre, a local nonprofit, to benefit in hopes of expanding its promotion of Maine musicians. Proceeds from ticket sales will help support community efforts to revive the 1936 Art-Deco style theater, once a thriving movie house and more recently known for its on-stage productions.
Muddy Ruckus will headline the festival. Winner of the 2016 New England Music Awards "Best in State", the band's latest album Pretty Bones released in June. Returning to the stage will be Trisha Mason of Ellsworth. Masons first performance at Locavore Festival was July 2014 and with her return, will be music from her latest album RedSky. Max Garcia Conover will join the festival for the first time, showcasing music from two full-length albums. Also taking the stage on July 30th will be Marshall Marquis of Bath, Hours North of Wells and Tomorrow Morning of Thorndike.
Sticking with tradition, Locavore Music Festival will have artists and craft vendors onsite as well as local food vendors. To keep with the festivals mission, Maine-made products will be welcomed in an effort to support our local, talented arts community.
Audience members are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for seating. The festival grounds have ample space for lawn games such as bocci, soccer or frisbee. An 18-hole disc golf course will be available during the festival.
Early bird tickets at $12 each will be available through July 24, or $15 at the gate day of the festival; children under 14 accompanied by an adult are free admission. For information, to participate as a vendor or to purchase tickets, visit LocavoreFestival.com.
