Orizuru means Origami Crane. It is said that once you fold a thousand origami cranes, your wish will come true. This short film tells the story of Sadako Sasaki, a Japanese girl suffering from leukemia caused by radiation from the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. In her hospital bed Sadako makes a wish and sets out to fold one thousand paper cranes. Decades later her inspiration brings two World War II veterans from opposite sides of the Pacific together and helps them break through cultural and historical barriers to find the courage to forgive.
