The Jason Spooner Band with Katherine Matzell Frederick - Midcoast Music Fest
Thursday, July 14, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. The Damariscotta River Association's Midcoast Music Fest at Round Top Farm (the first of three concerts of the Midcoast Music Fest). Featuring the Jason Spooner Band. Maine's best music, food, beer and oysters in the Darrows Barn, one of the region's most memorable performance spaces. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. - get your dinner onsite from our local pub.
These events support the conservation and education work of the Damariscotta River Association.
The Jason Spooner Band (Jason Spooner - guitar & vocals, Reed Chambers - Drums & Percussion and Adam Frederick - Bass & vocals, Warren Mcpherson - Keyboards & vocals) has independently released five albums to date and maintains a busy concert schedule covering a wide range of territory throughout the US. The band has shared stages with B.B. King, John Mayer, Jackson Browne, Taj Mahal, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Ray LaMontagne, Susan Tedeschi, Jackie Greene, G. Love, Guster, John Hiatt, Blues Traveler, Peter Rowan and Sara Bareilles.
In addition to press in Guitar World Magazine, No Depression, High Times Magazine, Wood & Steel Magazine and USA Today, the band was named one of Relix Magazines "On The Verge - Bands you should know." The Jason Spooner Bands music is regularly featured on satellite, NPR and Triple A Radio stations around the country including SiriusXM The Loft, NPRs "All Things Considered", NPRs "Car Talk", WMVY, KBAC, KDTR and WNRN.
The band has performed at Targhee Fest in Jackson Hole, WY - The Gathering of the Vibes in Bridgeport, CT - FloydFest in Floyd, Va - The Festival at Sandpoint - Sandpoint, ID - The Naukabout Festival on Cape Cod, the River City Roots Festival in Missoula, MT - The Rocky Mountain Folks Festival in Lyons, CO and have been perennial favorites at The Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT. Katherine Matzell Frederick is an up and coming singer/songwriter based in Portland, Maine where she has made a big splash in short time. This summer marks the beginning of major growth, as she is supporting some of New Englands finest acts, including The Jason Spooner Band, The Fogcutters, Jesse Dee, and Kat Wright and the Indomitable Soul Band. She is currently working on her debut album, due out in late 2016.
