May Day Worker's Cabaret
"One person cannot rescue any, But many can rescue many. For it's all or nothing, None or everyone!" - Bertolt Brecht
The times call for songs that speak truth to power. This worker's cabaret will feature classic songs of solidarity and class struggle by Brecht, Eisler, Weill and others, as well as original songs of underground courage by Portland's Three for Silver and Cult of Orpheus / Christopher Corbell.
Performers include fantastic and subversive mezzo-soprano Caitlin Mathes, a former Portland Opera resident artist and 2011 Lotte Lenya Competition winner.
