Open Book: Brooke Annibale

Open Book is a new concert series featuring unique performances and conversations with local songwriters. The first event takes place April 22nd at East End Book Exchange in Bloomfield and features singer-songwriter and guitarist, Brooke Annibale. The event is hosted by Mark Ramsey, of the Pittsburgh band, Cold Weather. Performances will include solo, acoustic versions of originals and covers, selected to illustrate the artists' musical biography. Between songs, Ramsey will interview Annibale about her music career and songwriting process. The audience will also have an opportunity to ask questions.

Brooke Annibale's The Simple Fear was released in October, 2015 following premieres in Paper magazine and Stereogum, and exclusive song releases with The Wall Street Journal & Huffington Post. The Washington Post called the album near perfect, while Pop Crush said that Annibale exhibits a masterful understanding of the art of subtlety. The Simple Fear was featured on NPR Music's World Cafe Next, and Annibale was named American Songwriters Writer of the Week. Additionally, the album was named WYEP's local album of the year for 2015.

This event is taking place in connection with FULLTIME, a five day, city wide collection of individually planned events created by separate hosts and promoted with the goal of highlighting the wide array of creative culture and entrepreneurial spirit modern Pittsburgh has to offer.
