W. Kamau Bell Blows San Francisco: A Stand-up Comedy Showcase
THERE WILL BE LIMITED TICKETS AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR!
SHOW UP BY 6:45PM TO BE PUT ON THE WAITING LIST!
W. Kamau Bell, one of The San Francisco Bay Area's Best Comedians, headlines a comedy showcase & says goodbye to his adopted hometown in his last local appearance before moving to NYC to star in a late night talk show for FX that will be produced by Chris Rock.
In his last SF show Kamau assembles some of his absolute favorite Bay Area comedians in order to let his hometown friends and fans know that they will be fine without him... for at least a little while.
Kamau will host the show and headline it. And also he is doing this so that his mom can see him perform while she is in town. Don't let him disappoint his mom.
Kevin Camia (from Comedy Central & the CD "Kindness")
Kaseem Bentley (Recently named by SF Weekly "Best Racial Humor You Don't Feel Guilty Laughing At")
Nato Green (Iron Comic & Laughter Against The Machine)
Karinda Dobbins (Jabari Davis & Associates, Comedy SuperPAC, Comedy Bodega)
Dave Thomason (Silver Nail Award Winner, National Comedy Competition)
Other acts to be announced soon!
Afterward hang out and say goodbye to Kamau... Or ask him for that money that he owes you before he blows SF for the last time... for now.
W. Kamau Bell is one of the fastest rising socio-political comics in the United States. A founding member of the stand-up comedy collective "Laughter Against the Machine," he is also co-host of "The Field Negro Guide to Arts & Culture" podcast with Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid. Praised by Punchline Magazine as "one of our nation's most adept racial commentators with a blistering wit," Kamau has been voted SF's best comedian by the SF Weekly, the SF Bay Guardian, and 7×7 Magazine. His recent stand up album, Face Full of Flour, was named one of the Top 10 Best Comedy Albums of 2010 by iTunes and Punchline Magazine. Kamau is best known for his critically acclaimed solo show The W. Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism in About an Hour, which was a Time Out NY critic's pick in the 2010 NY Comedy Festival and a comedy pick in The Guardian during his 2011 run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Time Out NY gives him "FOUR STARS" and offers, "Bell finds comic gold offering provocative insights into an ugly reality." The San Francisco Chronicle raves "The personable, quick comic skewers racism, stereotypes and an assortment of iconic taboos with provocative wit. FOUR STARS!" The SF Weekly has called Kamau "smart, stylish, and very much in the mold of politically outspoken comedians like Dave Chappelle," though he was more excited that they called him "handsome." This summer, Kamau will star in "Totally Biased", his own late night comedy series on the FX Network, executive produced by Chris Rock.
