NYFSF Presents: Feedback 101 Comedy Industry Panel

So, you do what you can. You get on stage. You write songs. You make CDs and tour and travel. But is that all there is? Today, you'll get a chance to listen to some people who have turned their specific brand of comedy and work into a feasible way of life ie a paycheck. Come, ask questions, have a drink and learn a lil somethin' somethin'. Guests include:

Janine DiTullio, head writer of Superjail on Adult Swim and co-creator of Chirpbug.tv along with her business partner Pat Rogan. Janine DiTullio was the first woman hired to write for Conan O'Brien, and before that, the first woman to write for The Jon Stewart Show in 1994. She also wrote for the late night television talk show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and is a two time Writer's Guild of America award winners. www.chirpbug.tv

Danny Hastings has shot and designed an unprecedented number of album covers for some of the biggest names in the biz, and worked alongside artists as diverse as P. Diddy, Marc Anthony, Jodeci, Wu-Tang, Eminem, KRS One, Jay-Z, Tribe Called Quest and Jeru tha Damaja to name a few. He now runs Atomicus Films, an Urban Multicultural and Latin influenced film production company with offices in NYC, LOS ANGELES and MIAMI. www.atomicusfilms.com

David Johnston is the Associate Director of ExploringTheMetropolis.org, an award-winning playwright / actor, and a former NYFA Arts Recovery Fund administrator. His work has been produced in New York, Cape Cod, Los Angeles, Washington, London and Germany. He is an active member of the Dramatists Guild, Actors Equity, Blue Coyote Theater Group, NYFA Artistic Advisory Council, BMI Librettists Workshop, and is a Resident Artist for 2011-12 with American Lyric Theater's Composer Librettist Development Program.

Lisa Niedermeyer is a Program Specialist at Fractured Atlas, and she manages the website NYC Performing Arts Spaces www.nycpaspaces.org, the online database of over 2,300 rental spaces available for music, dance, and theatre in New York City. Artists can search for rehearsal, and performance space by price, location, and availability, while venues can manage space calendars and accept rental reservations/payment online. She will be talking about performance and rehearsal spaces, how to access them and the importance of finding your own slice of space to create.

D-Sharp Wilson is the creator of Platinum Label Entertainment, a one stop shop for music production and studio recording. He works with record labels, music publishing companies, record producers, music production companies and singers to produce a variety of styles of music such as R&B, hip hop, dance and rock. Originally from the Boston area, he has been working in the music industry for 20 years.
