Salon Miniature
The "Salon Miniature" chamber concert, a concert to present six composers' short master pieces of music including Chopin, Schumann, and Schubert with three brilliant musicians (clarinet, soprano and piano) from UK, USA and Asia. The concert is hosted at Community Music Center located in Mission District on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 7:30 pm.

Brenden Guy, clarinetist, impresario, British cultural ambassador and founder of Curious Flights, has performed throughout Great Britain, Europe and North America including performances at such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall, working with esteemed conductors Sir Simon Rattle, Vladimir Ashkenazy, and Marin Alsop. Regarding the 2013 West Coast premiere of the Britten/Matthews Movements for a Clarinet Concerto, Joshua Kosman of the San Francisco Chronicle praised Mr. Guy's performance with the Curious Flights Symphony Orchestra and conductor Alasdair Neale, commenting that he was "a formidable soloist, playing with dexterity and expressive force."

He is accompanied by pianist, Dr. Kyung Kim and soprano Cynthia Leigh to present Schumann's Fantasie, Spohr's "I am alone" and Schubert's "The Shephered on the Rock". Dr. Kim has presented concerts and master classes throughout the U.S., Canada, South Korea, and China. Dr. Kim formerly served on the piano faculties of Lawrence University (WI), Beloit College (WI), Ripon College (WI), and as chamber music coach at the Green Lake Summer Music Festival. She is currently Associate Professor of Piano at the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) School of Music.

Cynthia Leigh presents Schubert's Gretchen at the Spinning Wheel and Schumann's Widmung. This season Ms. Leigh sings Despina in Così fan tutte with Redlands Opera Theatre, Rosario in Goyescas with Independent Opera in Los Angleles, in the Artist Showcase in San Francisco and a solo recital at the Duestudio Concert Series in Richmond.  Recent performances include Leonora in Il Trovatore and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with Los Angeles Metropolitan Opera, The Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors with Riverside Lyric Opera and Amore in Orfeo ed Euridice with Celestial Opera Company in Pasadena; she has also been featured in several Opera Showcase productions at the National Opera Center and Merkin Concert Hall in New York City.
