Garden House Concert: Alchymeia
The practitioners of the ancient art of alchemy often sought to transform or combine a variety of elements. Alchymeia combines musical elements from folk songs around the world to create a rich and uniquely beautiful musical substance.
The repertoire reflects the varying backgrounds of the ensemble's founding musicians: Nadia Tarnawsky has been immersed in Eastern European singing techniques for decades, and Brandon Vance is a champion fiddler in a variety of styles. John Lenti brings his years of experience performing baroque and will include the theorbo, guitar & banjo for this concert.
Folk music of Eastern Europe, the British Isles, Appalachia and Cajun Louisiana -- all transformed by the magical mash-ups of Alchymeia.
Doors open at 7:30.
Light snacks and beverages, including wine and beer, available for purchase. Parking and accessible entry around back (alley entrance via S Bayview or S College streets).
