LAS VEGAS In an inspiring tribute to the healing power of dance, romance, music and entertainment, the dynamic husband and wife, Las Vegas-based song and dance team Michael Kessler and Melinda Jackson, are excited to bring GOTTA DANCE! to the Colony Theatre . With their company of artists from Broadway & The Las Vegas Strip, "GOTTA DANCE!" features musical numbers, directed & choreographed by Michael & Melinda, from the Great American Songbook, Contemporary Pop and Country tunes, and superb dances. GOTTA DANCE! tells funny, intimate and poignant backstage stories through the eyes, bodies and voices of dancers. These stories are illuminated by large scale live painting by identical twin, South Florida artists, Linda Drozdow & Laura Greenstein. The title song of Gotta Dance! is written by Keith Thompson, music director of Jersey Boys and Michael Kessler.
Dance styles range from Ballet to Hip Hop, Ballroom, Modern, Contemporary & Broadway. The GOTTA DANCE! cast includes artists from Radio City Music Hall, Broadway & the Las Vegas Strip.
Native New Yorkers, Michael Kessler and Melinda Jackson's careers have included producing, directing, writing, choreographing and performing internationally from Ballet to Broadway. Jackson says the life long collaborators also enjoy developing talented young dancers. They recently formed a new non-profit company, M&M American Dance Theater Works, focusing on educating the local communities in Las Vegas and South Florida and reaching out to and mentoring up and coming performers.
"We are part of the ever changing culture," said Jackson. "We have been inspired and mentored by great artists of the past and we are mentoring artists of the future." Kessler said, "Our philosophy is an inclusive approach, welcoming & blending a rainbow of artists of many different backgrounds, disciplines, ages & sizes all connected by the love of dance." is evening of fun for the whole family.
