The Marco Pignataro Italian Jazzet features Marco's lyrical compositions and group interplay with roots in modern jazz and ECM impressionism. Marco Pignataro brings together Nando Michelin, one of the most acclaimed pianists in Boston, plus the highly revered New York based Italian musicians Paolo Orlandi on drums and Marco Panascia on bass. Originally from Bologna, Italy, Marco Pignataro is a multi-talented saxophone player and composer who maintains a very active international schedule of concerts, recordings and clinics. Marco has shared stages with artists such as Eddie Gomez, Danilo Perez, Billy Drummonds, Ben Street, Jon Faddis, Billy Hart, John Patitucci and George Garzone, amongst many. Currently, he is also a member of the Eddie Gomez Quintet. Together with Danilo Perez, Marco currently leads the Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI), the premiere jazz center of musical creativity at Berklee College of Music in Boston. His latest CD "Sofia's Heart", was produced by jazz legend Eddie Gomez and recorded with a stellar group including Gomez and Billy Drummond.
