Baksana CD Release Party

Join us on November 29th for an exciting event of Baksana music, dance, and so much more!

In addition to Baksana playing the hottest tracks from "Baksana Live at Studio EP" we'll be hosting:

Community Dance Set! A chance to "perform" with Baksana. 3-5 min solo or group improv sets, first-come-first-serve. Come in costume or dance in street clothes... Arrive EARLY to sign up at the door.

Party Games! There will also be fun recorded music open dancing, a hula hoop contest, Henna, photo-booth, and an amazing live BALLOON ARTIST.

Baksana is:

A folk-fusion belly dance busking brass band from Portland, Oregon. Developed to bring live music and dance to the streets and stages, we also perform at studios, parties, and festivals. Consisting of a 10-12 piece company of professional musicians and dancers, Baksana's influences are inspired by artistic expressions of the Middle East/North Africa, American Jazz and New Orleans second line, the Balkans, Greece, and Turkey. Baksana's style also includes lots of improvisation, so you'll never see the same performance twice!

We recorded "Live at Studio EP" in our personal studio. It is, as the title suggests, a LIVE recording with all the energy of seeing one of our shows, without the overproduction so rampant in today's music. This is really us, playing for you!
