EXPERIMENTER is based on the true story of famed social psychologist Stanley Milgram (Peter Sarsgaard), who in 1961 at Yale University conducted a series of radical behavior experiments that tested ordinary humans' willingness to obey authority by administering electric shocks to a stranger (Jim Gaffigan) in another room. Milgram's wife Sasha (Winona Ryder)anchors him as his experiment sparks public outcry.
