Project YouthView 2012

Alternatives in Action's Project YouthView, now in its eighth year, has become a showcase for aspiring youth filmmakers who have something important to say and our winners have already had great success in the field.

In 2005, Alternatives in Action set out to capture the heartbeat of a generation. What better way to do this, then through the medium of film? That year, youth and adults partnered to create our first ever Bay Area Youth Film Festival.

In the years since its inception, Project YouthView has helped over 50 youth planners learn real world skills while coordinating the event, showcased over 75 youth-created film shorts, highlighted the work of over 200 young filmmakers, showcased six powerful documentaries, and brought over 2000 youth and adults together to experience and discuss the power of youth. Through this event, youth have seized the opportunity to demonstrate their leadership, tell us their stories, share their creativity, and present their solutions to a captive audience.

All sponsorships are tax-deductible (Federal Tax ID#: 943210413) and the proceeds will benefit the multimedia programs of Alternatives in Action and will enable Project YouthView to continue as a showcase for youth expression.
