No. 027 Shitty Barn Session: Anna Vogelzang with Weather Duo
In this Session - Weather Duo will back Anna Vogelzang for some or all of the show.  Expect big things.

A Boston area native, Anna Vogelzang recently transplanted herself to the mid-west, landing in Madison, WI where she's embraced the local music community, even taking a teaching role as an instructor in the Madison area Girls Rock Camp. The past few years have seen her on the road, self-booking tours with a determined approach that has landed her on the same stage as Mirah, Franz Nicolay, Wye Oak, Amanda Palmer, Kyp Malone (TV On The Radio), Nat Baldwin (Dirty Projectors) and many others. At times she has lent her own talent to other musicians, notably as a touring vocalist with The Dresden Dolls.

The Weather Duo is a post-contemporary chamber ensemble from Madison, WI.  Their collaborative compositions often incorporate improvisation,  and have  "weaved and knotted like a web, at times so tight the crowd held its breath." (Isthmus) Combining the use of acoustic instruments with a blend of electronics and acousmatic sound construction, their live performances range from sonorous beauty to the unearthly and disturbing. In live performance, the duo expands to incorporate live video artist Anna Weisling, and together they're "not just painting a picture of geographical beauty; they're creating an experience." (Daily Cardinal) Their versatility has allowed them a wide range of outlets: from collaborations with dance troupes such as the Li Chiao Ping Dance Company, film projects, electroacoustic music festivals, to sharing stages with artists like David Dondero and Dark Dark Dark. Their first full-length album, From Field to Platter, was released in 2011
